The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
