Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 Who sent down water in due measure from the sky, then quickened a region that was dead -- So shall We bring you forth -- 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
