The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
