The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
