Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
