۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
