AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
