Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
