And undoubtedly Haroon had told them before it that, “O my people – you have needlessly fallen into trial because of this; and indeed your Lord is the Most Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my command.” 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 [Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, 92 “That you did not come after me? So did you disobey my order?” 93 Answered [Aaron]: "O my mother's son! Seize me not by my beard, nor by my head! Behold, I was afraid lest [on thy return] thou say, 'Thou hast caused a split among the children of Israel, and hast paid no heed to my bidding!" 94 [Moses] said, "And what is your case, O Samiri?" 95 He said: I perceived what they perceive not, so I seized a handful from the footsteps of the messenger, and then threw it in. Thus my soul commended to me. 96 He said: Begone then, surely for you it will be in this life to say, Touch (me) not; and surely there is a threat for you, which shall not be made to fail to you, and look at your god to whose worship you kept (so long); we will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter it a (wide) scattering in the sea. 97 But the god of you all is the One Allah: there is no god but He: all things He comprehends in His knowledge. 98 Thus We relate to you the history of past events, and We have given you a reminder [the Quran] from Us. 99 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, 100 They will remain in it forever – what an evil burden it will be for them on the Day of Resurrection! 101 On the day the Trumpet is blown; and We shall muster the sinners upon that day with eyes staring, 102 and they shall murmur among themselves: 'You have stayed away but ten (days and nights)' 103 We are most knowing of what they say when the best of them in manner will say, "You remained not but one day." 104
