The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and the day in splendour 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
