۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 What then, shall we not die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
