We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
