Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 Yet they assign to some of His slaves a share with Him (by pretending that He has children, and considering them as equals or co-partners in worship with Him). Verily, man is indeed a manifest ingrate! 15
