Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 as black camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
