[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
