S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 The chiefs among them departed saying: go, and persevere in your gods; verily this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure? 9 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
