And whatsoever of affliction befalleth you is owing to that which your hands have earned; and He pardoneth much. 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 Among His signs are the ships sailing like mountains on the sea: 32 if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful, 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry; 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The recompense of a sin is a sin like it, but whosoever forgives and seeks to reform, his wage will be with Allah. Surely, He does not love the harmdoers. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 Blame lies on those who oppress, and terrorise the land unjustly. For them there is painful punishment. 42 And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage. 43
