Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the day of decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
