Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
