Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In high empyrean 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
