The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a repository of distinctly written record 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
