The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a great day 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
