Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the loosed ones successively 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
