Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and so am I: 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
