Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
a multitude of the ancients, 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury 45 And they used to persist in the great violation, 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Say: 'Those of ancient times and those of later times 49 “They will all be gathered together – on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 And drink as drinks the thirsty camel. 55 This is their entertainment on the day of requital. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Have you thought about [the semen] that you discharge -- 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We so pleased, We certainly could make it salty. Why, then, are you not grateful? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
