۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
