Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And linen spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
