(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 to support me. 31 And let him share my task, 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
