The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
