The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Then where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
