Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
