Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
And We did not send a prophet in a town but We overtook its people with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves. 94 Then We changed the misfortune into prosperity to the extent that they became numerous and said, “Indeed grief and comfort did reach our ancestors” – so We seized them suddenly in their neglect. 95 Had the people of the villages believed and been cautious, We would have opened upon them the blessings from heaven and earth. But they belied, and We seized them for what they earned. 96 Are the people of the townships then secure that Our wrath would not come upon them at night while they are slumbering? 97 Or, do they feel secure against the coming of Our punishment upon them in the forenoon while they are at play? 98 Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin! 99
