۞ We sent a revelation to Moses telling him to leave with our servants during the night; they would be pursued (by the Pharaoh). 52 The Pharaoh sent word to all the cities saying, 53 [bidding them to call out his troops and to proclaim:] "Behold, these [children of Israel] are but a contemptible band; 54 "And they are raging furiously against us; 55 And lo! we are a ready host. 56 Thus did We take them away from gardens and watersprings, 57 their treasures and their noble dwellings -- 58 Thus we let the Israelites inherit them all. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: "Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!" 61 Moses replied, "No, My Lord is with me, and He will guide me." 62 We sent a revelation to Moses saying, "Strike the sea with your staff." The sea was rent asunder and each side stood high up like a huge mountain. 63 And We brought near, there, the others. 64 We saved Moses and all the people with him 65 And We drowned the others. 66 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 67 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 68
