۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
