The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
