The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 He answered: "A short while, and they shall be repenting." 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then sent We Our Messengers successively; whenever its Messenger came to a nation they cried him lies, so We caused some of them to follow others, and We made them as but tales; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our Signs and a clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 They said, "Should we believe in two mere mortals who are like ourselves and whose people are our slaves?" 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water. 50
