Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
