The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
