Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
