And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 When such a person comes to Us, he will say [to his comrade], "If only you had been as far away from me as east is from west. What an evil comrade!" 38 It will be said [to such a person], "You have done wrong. Having partners in punishment will be of no avail to you today." 39 (Muhammad), can you make the deaf hear or guide the blind or the one who is clearly in error? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 Rather We will certainly show you that which We have promised them; for surely We are the possessors of full power over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 It is indeed a Reminder to you and to your nation, and without doubt you shall be questioned. 44 And ask thou Our apostles whom We sent before thee: appointed We gods, beside the Compassionate, to be worshipped? 45
