Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 if He so wills, He stills the wind, and then they lie motionless on the sea's surface - [and] herein, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are wholly patient in adversity and deeply grateful [to God]; 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 Whatsoever you have been given is only this life's merchandise; but what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and place their trust in their Lord, 36 And those who avoid the heinous sins and indecencies and when they are angry forgive, 37 And those who have responded to their lord and established prayer and whose affair is [determined by] consultation among themselves, and from what We have provided them, they spend. 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.). 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things. 43
