The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
