Seest thou one who turns back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
