Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
