And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
