HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
