The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 About their deeds. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
