Alshu'araa' 7 of 11

'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 And when you lay hands (on men) you lay hands (like) tyrants; 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 “And with gardens and water-springs.” 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they cried him lies; then We destroyed them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
