Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning for people -- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except the people of the right hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
