In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
