▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 About the criminals, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
